A clear learning plan, individualized academic support, and creative small-group options for families who want school to fit the learner—not force the learner to fit school.

Start Here:
Back-to-School Learning Map

When school feels like too many curriculum choices, too many worries, or no clear next step, we slow down and make a plan that actually fits.

-

The Back-to-School Learning Map is a $250, 90-minute working session for a parent, a student, or both. Together, we identify what is already working, what is truly getting in the way, and what matters most for the first six weeks.

-

You receive:

  • Clear strengths, needs, and priorities

  • A personalized one-page First Six Weeks Learning Map

  • Practical next steps for curriculum, routines, support, or goals

  • Clarity about whether ongoing coaching, a small group, a course, or a streamlined home plan is the next right move

Four August appointments currently open.

Target Specific Needs:
Individual Academic Coaching & Learning Support

Some learners need targeted support; others need someone who can translate school into a route their brain can actually follow.*

I empower students to build skills for agency and autonomy — not reliance on me or my support.

I offer individualized online support, with limited Tulsa-area options, in:

  • Math + “I’m not a math person” math

  • Literacy, writing, creative writing, and honors English

  • Study skills + academic confidence

  • ACT preparation*, college applications, + career-path planning

  • Strengths Assessment + Custom Learning Toolbox

  • Strengths-based, interest-led learning for students who are disengaged, overwhelmed, gifted, neurodivergent, or simply tired of one-size-fits-all school

  • Enrichment workshops and custom classes to catalyze curiosity with interests-based learning.

* Individual academic support sessions begin at $100/hour.

** Specialized ACT and college-application support is $125/hour.

From single targeted sessions to comprehensive 9-week or year-long programs, I focus on each student's unique strengths and explicit needs.

Small Groups, Co-ops & Classes
Address Gaps, Expand, or Extend

I currently have a limited number of fall class and co-op partnership slots open online, and two live, Tulsa area openings.

-

Ready-to-teach options include*:

  • Creative Writing Studio — grades 4–12

  • Math Through Story, History & Design — middle grades

  • Career Path & College Application Lab — grades 8–12

  • Level-Up Lab — literacy, or a core subject taught through game design and development — grades 48

-

Need something your group cannot find? I can also create a custom, classroom-ready course built around your learners, goals, schedule, & values.**

-

* Class pricing depends on schedule, number of students, and degree of customization.

** Custom course development begins at $1,000.

Learning that Fits the Learner

True learning begins with the learner’s existing schema: what they already know, care about, believe, and need.

I work from strengths, not labels. Every family deserves support that respects its values, culture, faith, identity, practical reality, and the unique way each child’s brain connects new learning to the world.

About CC

I’m CC Lawhon, M.Ed.—a certified educator, academic coach, curriculum specialist, and lifelong translator of “this does not work” into a proven path that does.

For more than 20 years, I have worked with learners in early literacy through college preparation  in homeschool, virtual, classroom, and one-to-one settings. My work combines learning science, creativity, practical planning, proven productive habits, and a deep belief that students are not "just kids", they are humans to be honored for their unique contribution to our world.
